The day has finally come! Sarah is graduating from Texas Tech University this afternoon and I am so extremely excited for her! A few months ago we got together on a nice spring evening and walked around campus to take her senior pictures. Now that the day has finally come for her to graduate, what better time to share some of them with the world? But before we do this, let’s throw it back to when Sarah was one of the most adorable baby girls Texas has ever seen:

With over 500 shots taken, it was really hard to narrow it down. With that being said, here are SOME of my favorites:

I mean, we had to get at least ONE “hand shelf” in there 🙂

One thing that Sarah and I both love to do is listen to my dad’s wise sayings that he likes to bestow upon us. One of our favorites was when I was trying to decide which internship opportunity to take when I was in college. He told me “A Bird in the Hand is Worth More than Two in the Bush.” What he was trying to say is that “A bird in the hand,” is yours, and it’s not going anywhere unless you let it go. But if you leave it and go for “two in the bush,” there is no guarantee you’ll catch them, you might even end up with nothing in the end. My friendship with Sarah is something I consider to be “A bird in the hand.” I am so thankful that God placed her in Lubbock Texas 4 years ago at Texas Tech Twirling Tryouts. She is such an amazing friend to me and I value our friendship more than she knows! No matter how many other “birds” may come or go I know that we will always remain friends.

So here is to you Sarah…..Now go concur the world!

Bucket List

We’ve horribly neglected updating our blog but we have some new stuff that we want to start posting and we want to share it with you all. We felt like being more adventurous this month so we thought we would challenge ourselves to a month long mini bucket list. It’s a pretty simple idea: create a list and check it off. We are both fabulous list-checker-offers but this list is less mundane and way more exciting. We each made a short list of tasks that we have never done but I have always wanted to try. We are giving ourselves one month to complete the list and we have to take a picture during each event. Once we are done we will report back and hopefully have some interesting stories to share.

Sarah’s List:
1. Try 24 hour juice cleanse
2. Bake cookies and deliver them to my local hospital nursing staff, police, and fire department and thank them personally for what they do
3. Attend a wine tasting
4. Help someone else check off something on their bucket list.

Amanda’s List:
1. Take a Spin Class
2. Attend a baking or cake decorating clas
3. Read the book “To All The Men I’ve Loved” from LC’s Book Club
4. Attend a workshop or training for career development

We are really inspired to maximize this month by trying new things and going out of our  comfort zones. At the end of March we will follow up with how things went.

Bach, Bach, Baby! {Guest Blogger- Bekka!}

I couldn’t be more excited for my first guest post to be about season 19 of The Bachelor.  This season features Chris “no-lips” Soules, who has been dubbed Prince Farming. We went all out for the season premiere with champagne, wine, cookie cake and Bachelor Bingo.

 cookie cake

So if you were like me and my lovely friends who dedicated three long hours to the season premiere, you wasted the first hour of your life with an exciting red carpet event then followed by the longest night of arrivals in Bachelor history.

Don’t get me wrong — there were parts of the red carpet I really enjoyed: getting to see Crazy Claire throw a baby up into the air, Erica Rose in a metallic jumpsuit, and trying to guess if Sean and Catherine are expecting a baby.  My favorite part was trying to guess if these two are really dating.

Because everyone knows that Sharleen and Brooks would be the most beautiful couple ever to hit Bachelornation.  Even though I think the red carpet was in large a huge waste of time, I also understand why the producers did it.  The show has been on for 29 seasons and obviously isn’t going anywhere.  Bachelor JuPa’s season was the second most talked about show for the entire year on social media.  The producers want the show to stay relevant and want you to remember all the crazies you love to hate from past seasons. Now on to the show…

The funniest part of Chris’s intro was the segment where he was talking about working out with Bachelornation’s in house gym rat Cody Sattler.  To be fair, it worked Chris looks great.

One of the things that makes Prince Farming’s season so different than the men before him is the number of eligible women available on his first night.  Normally contestants are given 25 women that come in two limos… this year there were 30 bachelorettes that arrived in four limos.  It was obvious that the number of women overwhelmed Chris.  Granted coming from a town of 416 people, it’s not hard to see why he wouldn’t be used to so many unrelated women.

To be honest this is probably the prettiest group of girls the show has had in long time.  This season has the usual Bachelornation types: nurses, teachers, beauty queens and single moms to some pretty unique things: WWE Diva-in-Training and cruise ship performer.

I’m not going to go through each and every single one of the girls but will just pass out some awards for the most memorable girls of the night.

First, I would like to recognize Tara.

Tara, a sport fishing enthusiast, first made an impression by getting out of the limo dressed in her finest Daisy Dukes.  She wanted Chris-no-lips-farmer to know the real her.  Don’t worry though — she changed into a little black dress to party.

And boy did she party…

From the second Tara got out of the car she was drinking Jack Daniels on ice at a steady pace.  It is no secret that the first night typically lasts until 5:00 or 6:00 in the morning.  Needless to say babygirl was drunk by the time the rose ceremony rolled around.  She even almost fell off the stage.  She annoyed Prince Farming so much that at one point he left the room to consult Chris Harrison if he should send her home.  Now, one can only assume that the producers told him to keep her around because drunkface gets a rose.

So to you, sweet redneck Tara, I would like to nominate you as “Most likely to marry Sugar Bear from Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.”

Next, it would be a shame if I didn’t recognize the night’s potty mouth jokester Kaitlyn.

The dancer caught Chris’s attention by saying “I don’t know much about you… I know your name is Chris and you’re a farmer… you can plow the f*ck out of my field any day.”  The two shared a laugh and Chris is totally into her.

So Kaitlyn wins the award for “Most likely to join the cast of the Bachelor in Paradise.”

My favorite and final crazy of the night is onion girl herself, Ashley S.

Now, Ashley gets her award first… She was voted “Most likely to steal Mama’s Little Yella Pills” because she was totally on something the first night.  She became obsessed with a pomegranate that she swore was an onion.

But I do have to give “Mama’s Little Yella Pills” some credit… because she cleverly stole Chris away from WWA Diva Brittany.  She offered her a yellow “rose” in exchange for some one-on-one time with the Bachelor.

That wraps up all of the craziness for today, but I can’t wait to see where this journey takes us.  We do know that the cast stays stateside only to leave the U.S. for the fantasy suite dates, and that Chris is engaged to someone at this moment.  Thanks for reading!

Top 8 TV Moments in 2014

Happy New Year(‘s Eve)!

As we say au revoir to 2014, we are also saying goodbye to some seriously amazing TV moments. Since it is pretty apparent that the two of us are slightly obsessed with TV, we figured paying homage to our favorite TV moments of 2014 would be a great way to end the year.

Spoiler Alert!! Do not read if you are in the middle of a major Netflix binge catching up on some of our favorite shows. We would hate to spoil anything for ya 🙂

Without further ado, here are the top 10 TV moments of 2014:

8. House of Cards: So long Zoe!

Let’s face it, no one messes with Francis Underwood.

7. Game of Thrones: The Purple Wedding

We were all waiting for it… and it finally happened! It’s a nice day for a purple wedding?

6. Bachelor in Paradise: Raccoon or New BFF?

This hilarious scene got us completely hooked on Bachelor in Paradise this summer. I mean Crazy Clare + Raccoon BFF= Reality TV perfection.

5.  How To Get Away With Murder: Don’t Be

This is truly the moment when we realize how messed up Annalise Keating is… and we love it.

4. Scandal: All of it…

We couldn’t pick out just one moment from Scandal this year, so we chose the whole season. I mean.. why not?

3. SYTYCD: Like Real People Do

This dance secured Jessica Richens a spot in the finale… and also a spot in our hearts. Think that sounds too mushy? Just watch the dance and you’ll get it.

2. NBA Playoffs 2014: Spurs Take It All

There may have been a few tears of joy when the Spurs were the last team standing…

1.  Greys: Farewell to Christina Yang

We had to save this one for last. Greys has a special place in both of our DVR’s and Christina Yang is actually our (not so) secret soul sister. Saying goodbye was so hard, yet so sweet.

So as we say goodbye to Yang we also say goodbye to 2014. It’s been real, its been fun, and the TV moments have been great. We are looking forward to many many more in 2015!
